10 EASY TIPS FOR THE CHANGE OF SEASONS

1. Dress Warmer. Keep out the draft. Cover your ears, neck and feet well.

 2. Eat Warmer. Be your own furnace. Heat from within. Eat warm soups and stews. Toast, roast and stir-fry. Eat local and colorful whenever possible. Eat seasonally and try baking nutritious varieties of Squash and toasting seeds. Sweet potatoes bake easily and store well in the refrigerator.

 3. Drink Warmer. Warm up the drinks you love, even your Water. Use a lemon or a mint leaf to infuse with a little more flavor, vitamins and minerals. Coffee, tea, milk, and cider can all be heated. Pull out that favorite mug or on the go cup, or treat yourself to a new one!

 4. Exercise whenever you can. Busy lives, and shorter, colder days, can keep us feeling sunshine deprived or cooped up. Get outdoors whenever you can for some fresh air and nature. Learn indoor exercises that you love and benefit from. Join a club, get to the spa, take a class or make room in your home or workspace to move around and take a wellness break.

 5. Early Evenings. Enjoy this time of darkness. Slow down, nest a little more. Go to bed earlier or catch up on something. Try evening yoga. Restore.

 6. Create a Booklist. Plan for downtime reading. Magazines, novels, self-help, mystery, whatever you enjoy. Newspapers, articles, or games. Let your mind go and allow your brain to learn something new.

 7. Make Room and De-Clutter. Never a bad idea to de-clutter even a one shelf whenever possible.

 8. Pantry. Once that shelf is cleared, re-stock it with a few extra necessities for when the weather does not beg for a trip to the store. Have a few extra food and drink items that store well, on hand.

9. Positive Thinking. As the season changes, be positive to combat the natural ups and down of life. Make each day the best day possible.

10. Vitamin C. Boost your immune system with vitamin C. Prevent and fight sickness by filling your body, mind, and spirit with wellness!
